Isometric Companies History

Our rich history begins with Founder Michael T. Hudalla, who formed Isometric Tool & Design in 1990.  At that time, the Isometric vision was to manufacture tooling and provide manufacturing solutions to exacting specifications for ultra-small, ultra-precise, and ultra-complex applications.

In 2009, a specific customer-driven need prompted the addition of a complimentary core competency in micro automated assembly systems.

During this time, the Isometric team’s ambition toward manufacturing innovation helped develop what is now known as the ‘Process of Discovery’.

Isometric’s Process of Discovery has three main initiatives, which we still apply to every project:

1. Discover Innovative Ideas by thinking beyond the norm with fresh, novel approaches that work.
2. Integrate Statistical Processes to guarantee perfection using automated solutions.
3. Eliminate Customer Concerns by anticipating potential problems before they happen.

In 2013, the Isometric team chose to expand the business to support the customers of their precision tooling business with the addition of precision micro molding. With these powerful micro solutions in-house, top micro-industry experts, Donna Bibber and Wayne Shakal, were also hired to manage and launch  Isometric Micro Molding. In addition to bringing their talents to Isometric, Hudalla also intended for the duo to become future business owners.

In 2021, Donna Bibber and Wayne Shakal purchased Isometric Micro Molding, becoming CEO and President, respectively. They added Brent Hahn (Vice President, Business Development and Strategy) and John Gleason (Vice President, Engineering) to their leadership team.  Today, Isometric is considered one of the largest and fastest growing medical-focused micro molder in North America.

On March 1, 2024, Isometric was acquired by Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), a global Contract Design/Development Manufacturing Organization. NMT’s expertise in the design and development of endoscopic devices, combined with Isometric’s micro-molding capabilities, have the potential to redefine the realm of minimally invasive surgical instruments and surgical robotics. Together, we aim to address the changing demands of medical devices by enhancing component miniaturization and improving the maneuverability of small and precision components, ultimately advancing medical efficiency.

As an ISO 13485 certified micro-molding service provider, Isometric Micro Molding serves high precision market segments in medical and drug delivery. Isometric’s ultra-precise capabilities with microscopic polymer components and sub-assemblies allow devices such as sensors, transdermal patches, life science disposables, sheaths, anchors, capillaries, robotic surgery, and neurovascular implants to hit the market.
